Michael Brady has been named associate vice chancellor for facilities services for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He will begin on March 28.
Brady is currently the assistant vice president for facilities management and construction at Old Dominion University. He leads the design, construction, and management of facilities that add up to more than 4.5 million square feet and serve more than 20,000 students.
“Our facilities and infrastructure are a critical priority for the campus and an important factor in our strategic vision. I have no doubt Michael will continue to build upon our excellence and improve our facilities that are critical to our success,” said Chris Cimino, senior vice chancellor for finance and administration.
“Brady joins the university at a pivotal time as we just began updating our master plan and look to address our infrastructure and capital needs for the next decade. He has extensive knowledge in large-scale facilities management and capital construction that will be necessary to achieve our goals,” Cimino said.
Before joining Old Dominion in 2016, Brady served for 20 years as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer in the in the US Navy, holding numerous positions of increasing responsibility in facilities and construction management all around the world. He is a registered professional engineer and has a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering from the US Naval Academy and a master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Illinois.
Cimino thanked search committee members and Terry Ledford, who has served as interim associate vice chancellor since Dave Irvin’s departure in 2020.
“Terry has led the department through most of the pandemic and overseen the completion of many successful projects. I appreciate his dedication, leadership, and the hard work of the entire department during this time of transition,” Cimino said.
